Projetos
Ao longo dos anos a Sociedade de História Natural de Torres Vedras tem desenvolvido em Portugal vários projetos de investigação e educação nas áreas da arqueologia e da paleontologia, com objetivos a consciencialização e a promoção dos patrimónios arqueológico, paleontológico e geológico de Portugal.
Alguns desses projetos deram origem a diversas publicações científicas em revistas de âmbito nacional e internacional.
Projetos Erasmus+ e Corpo Europeu de Solidariedade
The Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps projects are European Union initiatives that provide opportunities for people to learn, volunteer and gain work experience across Europe.
The Erasmus+ program aims to support education, training, youth and sport, while the European Solidarity Corps program supports young people in volunteering, participating in solidarity activities and training in different countries. Both programs offer opportunities to gain valuable experience and skills and improve employability prospects.

GeoEduca
GeoEduca is a project developed by Sofia Patrocínio, André Burigo and Pedro Andrade, which has as a partner the Educational Department of the Natural History Society of Torres Vedras. It aims to transmit scientific knowledge in the area of Earth Sciences, through various activities and workshops, adapted to different age groups. For more information, click on the image!
SIGAP
The SIGAP Project - Geographic Information System Applied to Paleontology, is a project that aims to respond to the main challenges posed by the paleontological collections held by the SHN. The Geographic Information System (GIS) that is being developed has the following objectives:
- Georeference all deposits represented in the SHN collections;
- Identify areas at risk of deposit destruction and thus establish priorities in terms of intervention and prospecting;
- Build a database that integrates relevant information for understanding the paleontological reality of the Western region;
In parallel with the central objectives, the SIGAP Project is a platform that involves all partners through internal training actions and field trips to collect coordinates and other elements. The SIGAP project is an initiative that aims to involve all partners who wish to learn more about prospecting techniques, material photography, GPS technology and Geographic Information Systems.

Paleolusitana: Scientific journal of paleontology and Paleoecology
Paleolusitana is a peer-reviewed scientific journal in the area of paleontology and paleoecology, edited by the Natural History Society.
